“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that Rio City Cafe will be permanently closing our doors,” the business wrote on social media.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After 30 years in Sacramento, Rio City Cafe is closing its doors.
“Our last day of service will be Saturday, August 3, 2024 … this was in no way an easy decision, but due to multiple factors, sadly, we realize it is time to say our goodbyes,” the business wrote in a Facebook post on Monday night.
The restaurant first opened its doors in May 1994 and became a staple on the boardwalk of the Old Sacramento Waterfront.
According to its website, the Rio City Cafe is known for its Sourdough Cheese Loaf, Fish and Chips and other dishes.
