Professors discuss economics at Sioux Falls Downtown Rotary meeting [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Area professors gathered Monday to discuss the intersection of national and local economics.

The event brought together leading experts to shed light on how national trends impact our community.

Professors from Augustana and South Dakota State explored topics ranging from employment rates to local business growth and inflation.

The main tool to control inflation is the federal funds rate. If that rate rises, banks typically pass on their additional cost.

“I am guessing they are not going to act at this next meeting.
