Power outages in Mass., Logan Airport delays due to wind NECN [Video]

Thousands of Massachusetts customers were without electricity on a windy Thursday, but the lights are back on for many.

Dozens of flights going into and out of Boston Logan International Airport on Thursday were delayed or cancelled due to strong winds.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency was reporting about 5,600 power outages across the state as of 4 p.m., but that number was down below 750 by about 11 p.m. Thousands more had been in the dark in New Hampshire and Maine, but the Granite State was down to about 200 Thursday night, with just a few dozen still without power in the Pine Tree State.

Logan Airport said in a social media post Thursday morning that delays should be expected due to weather, and advised passengers to check in with their airline before coming to the airport.
