Northwest DC apartment residents complain about flooding [Video]

Residents worry flooding will cause mold and electrical fires.

WASHINGTON — Residents at the Thomas Circle Apartments in NW D.C., told WUSA9  they’ve been left in the dark after their apartment building flooded.

“Washingtonian Problems,” a popular social media page, shared a video posted by one resident that has triggered hundreds of comments.

Cayna Sharp, a resident told WUSA9 management first sent out a letter informing tenants that the fire system wasn’t working and that a broken sprinkler was the cause of the flooding.

“People haven’t been given a timeline for when they get back into their apartments, what to do in the meantime?” Sharp, said. 

Sharp said residents were also instructed to email management for housing assistance or any other concerns. When they did, they received no response.

Sharp worries the flooding will cause mold and electrical fires. Most of all, she’s concerned that residents have nowhere to stay.
