Newly elected Mayor of McAlester shares his plans and excitement for growth of city | News [Video]

MCALESTER, Okla. — After nearly one month, Mayor Justin Few of McAlester said he is already working on some things in the city while taking [it] one step at a time so he can be what the City of McAlester needs. 

“Economic development, we have some businesses interested in and we are looking at another Tift, kind of like our Shops at McAlester that we had previously,” said Mayor Few. 

Those are the things newly elected Mayor few said he’s already working on for the City of McAlester. 

Mayor Few was officially sworn in on November 12 after winning the August 27 election. 

He said as mayor, he wants to prioritize getting back into the community and speaking to neighbors. 

“I think for too long, we’ve kind of lived in this digital world and one of the great things about campaigning is getting out, knocking on doors, meeting all the great citizens we have, and I think we lose that in transition through digital media,” …
