New Orleans man, woman accused of killing witness will stay in jail [Video]

A man accused of murdering a federal witness in a wide-ranging staged wrecks scheme in New Orleans was in court Friday. Ryan Harris, who is accused of killing Cornelius Garrison, believed to be cooperating with federal investigators, will remain in jail until his trial date. Harris was arrested two weeks ago with his girlfriend, Jovana Gardner. Both are implicated in the scheme that WDSU Investigates first reported six years ago. Gardner is also being held without bond. Both face charges of conspiracy to commit witness tampering through murder and conspiracy to retaliate against a witness through murder, according to court records.The case has been cold for almost four years.Numerous lawyers close to the case confirmed that a New Orleans man and woman were charged with the death of Garrison.They appeared for an initial hearing in Magistrate Court.The FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office declined to comment on the matter and have …
