Tyler Gibbs is set to take over the helm at Toyota Racing Development (TRD) after current President David Wilson heads into retirement at the end of the year. With nearly three decades at TRD and an initial background in engineering with Cosworth Engineering, Gibbs brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
His leadership will encompass overseeing TRD’s operations and activities in North America, including engine and chassis engineering and various other administrative and operational functions across TRD’s facilities in Costa Mesa, California and Salisbury and Mooresville, North Carolina.
Gibbs, who has worked under Wilson for 28 years, commented on his new appointment, as quoted by Motorsport.com:
