Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of the global economy and account for more than 90 percent of businesses globally, driving innovation, local economic growth, and social inclusion, said Matthew Wilson, chairman of the World Trade Organization’s Informal Working Group on MSMEs, during the ongoing China International Supply Chain Expo. China alone is home to more than 52 million MSMEs, representing around 60 percent of its GDP and 68 percent of exports, he added.
