Heather O’Neal has been fostering dogs through Triangle Beagle Rescue for the past eight years. The North Carolina–based rescue service focuses on homing dogs with foster families until adoption. By relying on foster homes, the rescue can keep beagles out of animal shelters. These dogs can also learn the skills needed to be successful family members. Since 1999, Triangle Beagle Rescue has helped re-home 4,000 beagles in the state.
O’Neal welcomed home Molly in February 2018. She told Newsweek via email that Molly was found on the side of the road “very pregnant” in December 2017 and that shortly after being rescued, she gave birth to six puppies. Molly moved into O’Neal’s home as a foster once she finished her motherly duties.
