(WJW) — Microsoft dealt with a big outage Thursday morning that affected thousands of users.

The company wrote on social media platform X that it was “investigating an issue where users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services.”
Downdetector, a website that tracks service issues in real time, showed reports of Microsoft outages jumping into the thousands just before the 8 a.m. hour. At its peak, there were more than 23,000 outage reports, according to the website.
A majority of the issues were related to Outlook, according to Downdetector.

Updating users throughout the morning, Microsoft posted on X that the company is “reviewing network telemetry and recent changes to our networking infrastructure. Additionally, we’re working with a third-party ISP to understand the underlying cause.”
