The suspect in the case turned himself in on primary day
SAGINAW, MI. (WJRT) – Saginaw County Sheriff Bill Federspiel is celebrating a Tuesday primary win, but he’s also concerned that a man who threatened to kill him, is free on bond.
Federspiel easily defeated his Democratic opponent in Tuesday’s primary.
The last few days of the campaign were tense, as a man who threatened to kill the sheriff was not in custody.
The man turned himself in yesterday on primary day and was arraigned on a misdemeanor charge, and then released on a personal recognizance bond, meaning no money was needed to be posted for him to walk out of jail.
The sheriff is concerned about that in this case, and others.
“I’m thrilled, and I am humbled by the outpouring of support from citizens throughout the county,” says Federspiel about his primary win.
