Lt. Gov. Ainsworth speaks on state of economy at Dothan luncheon [Video]

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth visited Dothan Tuesday to speak at the State of the Economy Luncheon.

“Alabama’s economy is doing really well,” said Lt. Governor Ainsworth.

Lt. Gov. Ainsworth said while the growth this year is less than the previous years, they are seeing growth, nonetheless.

“We experienced some growth the last few years that who knows if it will happen again, but we are still seeing growth,” said Lt. Gov. Ainsworth. “I reviewed the budgets this morning. The general fund and ETF (Education Trust Fund) are both seeing growth, so that’s positive.”

Ainsworth also sang the praises of Dothan, highlighting their contributions to a variety of key economic components.

“You look at the medical side, you look at what’s going on with HudsonAlpha, and just the opportunities,” said Lt. Gov. Ainsworth. “Dothan is a smart city.”
