Looks like Google’s Planning a Major Overhaul to Android’s Quick Settings Layout [Video]

Since its inception, one of Android’s biggest strengths was its flexibility when it came to customization and UI changes. This allowed for various manufacturers and brands to tweak how the platform looks, and as a result we’ve gotten different approaches to how users can interact with the OS.

Take for example the notification and quick settings menu, which has seen different redesigns depending on the brand and manufacturer. Google’s usual approach with its Material You theme opts for a more minimal look, compared to the more cluttered and almost Apple-esque designs on phones from Samsung, Xiaomi, and Oppo to name a few.

With that said though, it looks like Google is working on adding some significant visual changes to how Android (particularly on the Pixel phones) will handle the quick settings menu layout, as reported by the folks over at Android Authority.
