Local business owner reacts to potential of Blue Laws returning [Video]

HORACE, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A controversial law limiting business hours in North Dakota could make a return.

House Bill 1150 is scheduled for a public hearing in the North Dakota House Industry, Business and Labor Committee on Wednesday. If passed, it could ban certain businesses from being open from midnight until noon on Sundays, from car dealerships to clothing stores to restaurants.

“Wow, no that’s terrible. That’s honestly so bad,” said Angel Guiterrez, the social media manager at Taco Revolution.

Those impacted would include the Guiterriez Family who owns Taco Revolution in Horace. They open early on Sundays.

“You see my time hours, we open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. So now the period of time is going to be shorter. We got lots of opportunities to make sales, and definitely affect the business,” said Owner Jesus Guiterrez.
