HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville City Schools emailed families and staff about a possible threat to schools in the system Wednesday morning.
Huntsville City Schools Administration sent out a message Wednesday morning saying they were taking a ‘heightened awareness’ approach as the school system works with local law enforcement and campus security.

HCS families and staff,
We are continuing to address concerns related to rumors and threats on social media. We are actively monitoring along with law enforcement, and it does not appear there are any credible threats involving our schools at this time.
However, we take these concerns seriously as the safety of our students and staff members is paramount. We are taking a “heightened awareness” approach as we follow our school safety plans and work with law enforcement and our campus security team to support our schools.
