BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham family got the keys Thursday morning to their brand new home just in time for the holidays in the Fountain Heights community. This house is one of 25 new ones being built in the area as part of a program through the Birmingham Land Bank Authority.
The initiative has been in development since June, and thanks to the collaboration between the land bank, city leaders, and QS Construction, this family will be settled in their new home for the holiday season.
“Congratulations to Mr. Reed and welcome to the heights, Fountain Heights,” said District 9 Councilor LaTonya Tate.
Reed is one of two dozen families that will have brand new homes in this community. Leaders believe this effort will not only transform the lives of these new homeowners but also positively impact the entire Fountain Heights neighborhood.
