A recent article from the Washington Post talks with executives and employees at the Texas-based fast food giant about the restaurant’s growth.
DALLAS — It’s been half a decade since Whataburger was sold by its family owners to a Chicago investment firm — some say for the worse.
In a recent article published by the Washington Post titled “What happened to Whataburger?,” Texas-based writer Omar L. Gallaga probes that exact question, talking with critics and executives of the Texas-based fast food giant.
The article cites one TikTok user based in Haslet who posted a video after a bad experience at a Fort Worth Whataburger involving 25 minutes of waiting and a wrong order.
“Don’t go to Whataburger anymore,” Jim Fitz said in the video. “Ever since they got bought out, it’s been trash.”
Speaking with the Post, Fitz said he remembered what led up to the video.
“It was just a string of bad experiences,” Fitz recalled to the post.
