Mike Gundy is staying at Oklahoma State after a tense week where the long-time OSU head football coach’s future was up in the air.

Oklahoma State announced on social media Saturday the university and Gundy agreed on a new contract.

OSU is coming off its worst season in Mike Gundy’s 20-season head coaching career at Oklahoma State. The Cowboys lost their last nine games of the season to finish 3-9 overall and 0-9 in Big 12 play.

The Oklahoma A&M Colleges Board of Regents had a two-hour special meeting in executive session about the OSU football coaching staff. The school reportedly offered Gundy a revised contract after that meeting. …
