Grand Rapids veterans organization needs help with costly repair [Video]

Hero’s Corner provides a safe, sober place for veterans to enjoy fellowship. But they say if they can’t get their roof fixed, they may have to close their building.

KENTWOOD, Mich. — It doesn’t take much time walking around Hero’s Corner to see water damage in the brand-new drop ceiling. It’s in the main hall, the bathrooms, the women-only wing called Shero’s Corner and the back storage area.

“We’ll spend over $5,000 having a patch, only to find out that we have a flat roof that water just finds another way in, which is causing large amounts in all different areas of our building, damage to our ceiling tiles,” said Hero’s Corner founder Reginald Howard.
