GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – As temperatures drop, Genesee County Animal Control and its shelter are nearing overcapacity. The shelter has seen a significant uptick in animals, both strays and those suffering from neglect, needing urgent care and shelter.
“We see more dogs and cats coming in during the winter months,” said Hannah Peterson, social media manager at Genesee County Animal Control. “The past two weeks or so, I would say we have taken a turn for the worst, and we’ve been taking in a lot of animals.”
