FOX23 Investigates: Retired TPD major sues City and dept. for ‘wrongful demotion’ Pt.4 | News [Video]

TULSA, Okla. — A jury decided this afternoon the City of Tulsa has to pay a retired major more than $500,000.

The ruling was in the favor of Major Tracie Lewis in a lawsuit against the Tulsa Police Department (TPD). She said the department demoted her after she spoke up about wrongdoing.

She said they changed a job listing so a specific person could get the job.

However, police said they demoted her because they claim she assaulted an employee.

FOX23 was in the courtroom on Friday.

First, the plaintiffs called their final witnesses, and then it was the defense’s turn. They called three witnesses. Two of them said they were there when the alleged assault happened.

Ladonna Scott, now retired, said she worked in records at the Tulsa Police Department for more than 30 years.
