Hersheypark has announced that it will not open on Friday, Aug. 9, due to the forecast of heavy rain from Tropical Depression Debby.
Zoo America also will be closed on Friday.
These closures are being done “for the safety of our guests and team members,” the social media post said.
Full operations are expected to resume on Saturday, the post said.
According to the National Weather Service, Debby is predicted to impact the area from Thursday night into Friday night.
General amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with as much as 7 inches, are possible from Thursday night into Friday night, according to The National Weather Service.
A flood watch for much of central Pennsylvania is in effect from 2 a.m. Friday through late Friday night.
