Multiple people are out of their homes after a fire broke out in a high-rise downtown Vancouver building on Monday afternoon.
Three units were significantly damaged and six other units below sustained water damage.
Firefighters were called to Alberni Street and Nicola Street around 4 p.m.
Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (VFRS) said the fire was burning on the 20th and 21st floors, and that there were no reports of anyone missing or injured but that firefighters were sweeping the building as a precaution.
Fire fighters are currently on scene at 1500 Alberni. We send our well wishes and hope everyone is safe. The fire has spread across multiple floors, but water is now being applied to contain the flames.
