Fire at industrial site in Patrington as witness describes blaze as ‘intense’ [Video]

The fire service is currently tackling a large fire in Patrington.

Witnesses earlier posted footage showing flames at least 10ft tall. The fire service said it has been making “good progress” since the incident began at around 9am. It is not yet clear what started the fire.

An image from the scene shows the charred skeleton of a large warehouse-style building emitting thick plumes of black and grey smoke. The fire service can be seen pumping water onto the fire which is visible within the clouds of smoke.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service released a statement on social media via the control room. It said: “Crews are making good progress with the incident in Patrington, however, the A1033 Withernsea Rd is now closed.”
