Ex-Central Illinois congressman takes high-ranking job at U.S. Chamber of Commerce [Video]

WASHINGTON, D.C. (25News Now) – Former Republican Congressman Rodney Davis has been hired as head of governmental affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Davis was elected to Congress in 2012 representing a district that included parts of Central Illinois. Two years ago, he lost a GOP primary race in the newly drawn 15th District to U.S. Rep. Mary Miller, who had former President Donald Trump’s support in that contest.

“As a five-term member of Congress, Rodney Davis earned a reputation as a champion of free enterprise and pro-growth policies and effective legislator who was deeply respected on both sides of the aisle,” U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Suzanne P. Clark said in a prepared statement.
