MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Billionaire Elon Musk must like Memphis. His company xAI is getting the green light to expand its footprint in the Bluff City. The supercomputer site in Southwest Memphis is about to get super-sized.
CTC Property, LLC who is affiliated with xAI, was approved for the lease Friday by The Economic Development Growth Engine for Memphis and Shelby County, at a special called meeting Friday.
A representative with CTC Property, LLC and xAI, didn’t give details on what’d they be doing with the land.
It’s right by the former Electrolux facility, now turned into Musk’s supercomputer site.
“This is a catalyst for growth for moving our city forward,” said EDGE board President & CEO Joann Massey. “This is a big investment.”
