Police said when they found the dogs, some of them had heartworms.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The dogs that were seized in a dog fighting arrest in June are now recovering at Louisville Metro Animal Services.
In some photos Louisville Metro Police posted on social media, they appeared to be smiling at LMAS. Their names are “KB”, “Shy girl”, “BG” and “M&M”.
In a social media post, the department said a detailed tip led them to a home on Lillian Avenue where they arrested 47-year-old Kareem Garner for dog fighting and animal cruelty.
LMPD’s investigation revealed Garner is well known in the region for dog fighting, and that he’s been doing it for a long time.
In a search warrant executed earlier this month, officers found four dogs that were in terrible living conditions, and that some of them have heartworms according to authorities.
