Demand for AI professionals up 142% in six months [Video]

Demand for workers with specialist skills in artificial intelligence has more than doubled over the past six months as the technology sector reconfigures itself following recent retrenchment.

Accenture‘s latest Talent Tracker study has found a 142% increase in demand for AI skills, far outpacing the growth in demand for data analytics (+36%) and cloud computing (+21%) as well as the listings for technology jobs more widely, which increased by a substantial 16.3%.

AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics collectively account for eight in 10 (79.6%) of Ireland’s tech talent pool, with data and AI alone making up 41.9%.

“It’s encouraging to observe a notable rise in the jobs posted across the country, especially in the emerging technology sectors,” said Audrey O’Mahony, managing director and head of talent & organisation at Accenture in Ireland.
