COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Impacts from Helene will affect Columbus in the coming days.
Columbus EMA is actively tracking Helene through the National Weather Service and local weather teams. It is continually updating its app and social media accounts with important information.
In Columbus, locals are being asked to prepare for high winds, flash flooding, fallen trees, power outages.
“[We’re] making sure that our drains are clean and open and can take as much water as possible to get it off the streets,” said Columbus EMA director Chance Corbett. “Our first responders are gearing up to be able to respond any emergencies that come up.”
Corbett recommends having a weather radio and staying tuned for news updates.
