CLARK COUNTY, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Clark County Sheriff’s Office urged residents to use caution after responding to an individual who had broken through the ice near Willow Lake.
Units were dispatched early Saturday morning to Dry Lake 2 near Willow Lake where a vehicle broke through the ice while crossing an ice heave.
In a social media post, they shared tips for anglers going out on the ice, which include using extreme caution while on any body of water, watching for ice heaves and never crossing them, and wearing proper gear when on the ice.
The post encouraged residents to be aware of changing ice conditions, even with the colder temperatures.
