City of Peoria will not pursue or market an airport [Video]

PEORIA, Ariz. — Editor’s note: An earlier version of this article stated the City of Peoria was purchasing land from the state. It has been corrected to clarify that the state will continue to own the land but the city is investing in infrastructure projects on state property.

It’s the price the City of Peoria paid for a study to determine if an area around the 303 Freeway south of Lake Pleasant would be suitable for an airport. The study found that it was, but city officials have decided not to pursue or market an airport.
