PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The new Hurricane Middle School isn’t here yet, but the school board said they’ve started working behind the scenes.
“The hardest part is waiting for that 8-12 month design phase because a lot of times people will think, gosh well they got that money and I don’t see anything happening, there’s a lot happening,” Superintendent John Hudson said.
The new middle school will be situated directly next to the high school, and it was approved three months ago by voters as part of a school bond. Putnam County Schools Superintendent John Hudson said the design process is underway.
Hudson said a committee made up staff from the current middle school will have their kickoff meeting, with ZMM architects starting on Thursday to keep the project moving forward and to figure out what’s necessary for the new facility.
