FREELAND, Mich. (WJRT) – A popular purveyor of baked goods and pastries in the Great Lakes Bay Region is expanding with a new kitchen to handle its commercial and wholesale operation.
Barney’s BakeHouse opened the $750,000 commercial kitchen next to its newest retail location at 218 N. Main St. in Freeland. The bake shop had been filling commercial orders from its original location in Bay City.
Over the past few years, Barney’s sales to large customers like restaurants has increased and the company recently started putting baked goods on the shelves at Jack’s Fruit & Meat Market stores.
