Apple Juice Recalled at Major Retailers Due to Arsenic Contamination [Video]

On August 15, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced a recall of 9,535 cases of Great Value brand apple juice sold nationwide due to high arsenic levels. This recall has now been expanded to include 141,298 cases of apple juice from multiple other brands, according to the announcement by the FDA.

The original recall was for Great Value apple juice packaged in 8-ounce plastic bottles and sold as a six-pack with the identifying UPC number 0-78742-29655-5, best-by date “DEC2824,” and code CT89-6. Refresco Beverages US Inc. of Tampa, FL, has expanded the recall to include the following brands and identification codes:

The apple juice was sold at Aldi, Walmart, Walgreens, BJ’s, Dollar General, Weis, and other stores across the United States and Puerto Rico. If you have this apple juice in your pantry or fridge, discard it immediately or return it to the place of purchase.
