The upcoming Indie Filmmakers Weekend just leveled up.
Amazon’s Black Employees Network has partnered with Ray Jr., Toiya Tillman, LaShonda Thompson, and the Independent Filmmakers team to help shed light on independent and up-and-coming filmmakers. The weekend event takes place in Atlanta November 8 – 10 and features multiple ways for young movie makers to shine and grow their brands.
According to Amazon, the Black Employees Network’s (BEN) mission is “to recruit, retain, and empower Black employees. BEN connects members with mentors and provides career and personal development workshops”.
According to East Cleveland’s Ray Jr., the Indie Filmmakers Weekend is about “Making major moves in the industry for up-and-coming filmmakers”. Special hosts and panelists, many of them from Cleveland, will share their knowledge and expertise throughout the weekend.
