The Austin Police Department was called to investigate a suspicious item found in the airport’s Belly Freight Area Thursday night.
AUSTIN, Texas — An all-clear has been given after the Austin Police Department (APD) was called to investigate a suspicious item at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) on Thursday night.
Police did not specify what the item was, but the airport posted on social media that terminal activities and flight services were not interrupted as the item was found in the Belly Freight Area, which is the lower deck of an aircraft where cargo is transported.
The all-clear was issued at around 8:30 p.m., as police and airport staff worked to reopen the Belly Freight Area.
