Adjacent buildings temporarily closed for evaluations following Brookings fire [Video]

BROOKINGS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Two buildings adjacent to the collapsed Brost’s Fashions were temporarily closed for evaluation on Friday.

The City of Brookings shared on social media that the city’s Building Service Division declared that the Seven Songbirds and Grunewaldt buildings are unsafe for occupancy and use.

Now, a structural engineer will evaluate the structural integrity and safety of the buildings.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
