Michael Mallory is being remembered as a “bright, highly trained, and deeply passionate” firefighter.
CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — The Clarksville community is mourning the loss of a young firefighter, according to the town’s fire department.
Firefighter Michael Mallory died while off duty, and his death was not related to his firefighting duties, Clarksville Fire shared on social media Monday.
“A dedicated and promising member of our department, Michael graduated from the local fire academy in 2024,” the department said. “He was bright, highly trained, and deeply passionate about the fire service.”
Officials said Mallory also served in the National Guard and was preparing for an upcoming deployment.
Clarksville Fire intends to honor Mallory with traditional firefighter funeral rites.
“We ask that you keep his family, friends and fellow firefighters in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time,” the department added.
