REHOBETH, Ala. (WTVY) – People continue to flock to the small town of Rehobeth for their school and small-town living.
While residential is booming, retail has been slow to keep pace, until now.
Leaders cut the ribbon on a new Dollar Tree in the Houston County town Monday morning.
A nice addition, but not all Rehobeth hopes to get before long.
The new store is a reminder of one of the problems this fast-growing town wants to address.
“This is just a piece of the puzzle. The council and Houston County were very supportive on expanding our infrastructure over the last few years and this will be the first commercial development to attach to our sewer system,“ Mayor Kimberly Trotter said.
The town has laid the groundwork by investing in both infrastructure and public safety.
New homes have also attracted a crowd of newcomers.
Now, Rehobeth is setting its sights on retail.
Just last week, the town approved two new commercial developments.
