Medical Arts to shut its doors Jan. 31 [Video]

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A staple in the Concho Valley’s medical supply community announced it is closing at the end of the month.

Medical Arts Pharmacy said after 68 years in business, it is closing its door Jan. 31. In a social media post, the pharmacy says “challenges posed by inadequate insurance reimbursements—largely driven by Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs)—have made it impossible for us to continue operating.”

“We are deeply grateful to our loyal customers, staff, and this wonderful community for your trust and support over the decades. Serving you has been our greatest honor.”

Customers with questions or concerns about prescriptions or who need assistance transferring them to another pharmacy should contact the pharmacy before Jan. 31.
