TikTok said the account was removed for violating the community guidelines.

The platform directs people who search for Helene-related content to reliable information from FEMA by labeling relevant content and search results, and reminds people to verify information, according to TikTok.

The company also said they have launched donation stickers that creators can add to connect viewers who want to support relief efforts to official charitable organizations like the Red Cross.

“We continue to aggressively enforce our policies against harmful misinformation and work with 20 independent fact-checking organizations to assess content as events unfold.”
