After some of East TN sees first snow of the season, THP shares tips to stay safe on the road [Video]

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Some of East Tennessee woke up Wednesday morning to snow packing on lawns and on roofs. While the snow mostly melted on the roads, allowing traffic to flow, the Tennessee Highway Patrol wanted to make sure people knew how to stay safe while on the roads in inclement weather.

Brad Fuson, a trooper with the patrol, spoke on a video posted to social media. He said during inclement weather, people leave home early and give themselves some more time to reach their destination.

He also recommended people start their vehicles up and make sure all snow and frost is off of it before hitting the road.
