The nonprofit organization says they will take in their first official new intake from Georgia on Sunday.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Hope for Life Rescue in Virginia Beach will resume animal intakes starting next week Sunday, according to the organization’s social media post.
At the end of September, the nonprofit animal rescue organization announced on social media that people could expect animal intakes to be closed “for at least a couple weeks or so, possibly longer.”
Hope for Life cited issues surrounding operating costs, veterinarian services such as spay/neuters, vaccinations and prevention, heartworm testing/treatment, and urgent care and emergency visits.
“It was a difficult decision to make, especially in light of the recent devastation from the hurricane and not being able to help with many of the displaced animals needing rescue,” the group’s re-opening post stated.
