VB to give update on 5/31 memorial; last step before construction [Video]

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The City of Virginia Beach is expected to give an update on the design process of the 5/31 memorial on Thursday.

The memorial will honor the 12 people who were shot and killed and five injured in a mass shooting at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center on May 31, 2019.

Thursday’s update from Dills Architects is anticipated to be the last step before construction begins on the memorial on Princess Anne Road and Nimmo Parkway. The project is expected to cost about $6 million to construct.
