New scheme targeting people looking for affordable housing [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) -There is a new housing voucher scheme targeting people looking for affordable housing in the Cincinnati area, according to Missy Knight with the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority, CMHA.

Knight is warning people about a flyer circulating on social media that does not include CMHA branding.

“It doesn’t contain our logo; it doesn’t contain our email address. We have specific email addresses, so it doesn’t contain that. There’s a slue of red flags that are in there,” Knight said.

Knight says this isn’t the first time the people they work with have been targeted; a different fake flyer appeared on social media in June.

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency reported that there was a Facebook page called the Ohio Housing Development Authority promoting a waiting list for Section 8 housing/Housing Choice Voucher Programs.
