OUTBACK Steakhouse has been making strategic changes to improve this summer after mass closures.
The restaurant chain shuttered 41 underperforming locations in February, predominantly due to low sales and foot traffic.
David Deno, the current CEO of Bloomin’ Brands (Outback Steakhouse’s parent company), also noted it wouldn’t be worth the investment to keep the 41 restaurants running.
“The majority of these restaurants were older assets with leases from the ’90s and early 2000s,” Deno told investors on an earnings call.
At least 31 of the 41 Outback Steakhouses closed on the same day, with the remaining 10 following after, per Nation’s Restaurant News.
Still, Bloomin’ Brands is working hard to turn things around for Outback Steakhouse with a few “strategic” changes.
