Multiple Vermont schools are having to delay the start of the school year [Video]

Multiple schools across Vermont have had to make last minute changes to delay the first day of school or rework what classes are going to look like.One of those is Otter Valley Union Middle and High School, which is shutting down a middle school wing due to mold and moving students to a different part of the school. “We decided to close the entire wing and try to remediate it as quickly as we could, we were unable to get it done really quickly because the issues was larger then we thought,” said Rene Sanchez, the interim superintendent of the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union. They are not alone. Milton Town Elementary School is delaying the start of its school year to Sept. 3 after also finding visible mold growth.
