Gov. Noem appoints new commissioner to the Governors Office of Economic Development [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – On Wednesday, Governor Kristi Noem appointed Joe Fiala as the Commissioner of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Fiala is originally from the Southern Hills, being raised in the ranching industry in Custer. He joined the Governor’s Office of Economic Development in 2012 as a development representative.

When taking the position, Fiala was optimistic about the position, saying, “I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues and economic developers across the state to help businesses grow and to positively impact the economy of South Dakota.”
