McDonald’s plan company’s largest expansion in two decades [Video]

McDonald’s plans to open over 200 new restaurants across Ireland and the UK in the next four years, creating approximately 24,000 jobs.

This will mark the company’s largest expansion in more than two decades.

The growth initiative is backed by a £1bn (€1.17bn) investment from the chain and its franchisees.

Since its first Irish restaurant opened on Dublin’s Grafton Street in 1977, McDonald’s has expanded to 95 locations in Ireland.

Currently, the company employs more than 170,000 people across Ireland and the UK.

The expansion will emphasize opening new high-street restaurants.

This development follows the fast-food giant’s global goal to build 10,000 new restaurants by 2027.

Alistair Macrow, CEO of McDonald’s UK & Ireland, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We have come a long way.”
