San Tan residents upset over view blocked by new development on Links Golf Course [Video]

San Tan Valley, AZ (AZFamily) — San Tan Valley is experiencing rapid growth, marked by an influx of new homes and businesses.

Among the most notable transformations is the redevelopment of the old Links Golf Course, near Ocotillo and Ironwood roads, into a new housing community called Ironwood Springs.

The Cambria Ocotillo community has seen a significant shift in its landscape due to the construction of a large block wall by the neighboring building by the Ironwood Springs housing project developer.

Residents now find their picturesque views obstructed by a nearly eight-foot-tall gray cement wall.

Betsey Lawrence, a resident since 2017, expressed her frustration. “I don’t have the freedom to go out and enjoy my backyard like I used to,” Lawerence said.

Other residents like Jean Stockton also expressed frustration with the recent change.“I was appalled. You look outside, and it’s very unsettling that they can do that,” she said.
